Powder is a substance with a long history of use - for hair. Long before shampoos as we know them, powder was used to absorb oils, but also to make fashion statements with a lot of volume and a dry, matte texture that absorbs light. It also creates a surface with plenty of grip so that updos with pins and such don't slide around so much.
Bb. Editorial Stylist Laurent Philippon (creator of Sumowax and Styling Lotion) made the tradition modern with the suggestion that the powders were made to his specifications in four shades: white for blondes, plus red, brown and black. They match, enhance, or shift color according to preference (clients overdue for a color appointment use it to blend away roots).
volume, matte texture, color-enhancement, oil-absorption
Iron Oxides: pigment
Corn, Oat Powders: texture, volume, absorption
anyone; great for adding volume
anytime; after Styling Wax or Sumowax
If hair is relatively clean, work Styling Wax or Sumowax through areas where you wish powder to adhere. Shake bottle to fluff contents, hold at an angle and pump repeatedly, directing stream to head. Shake excess through with fingers.
Hair Powder first + Gloss after = a shinier, less matte finish
